Scope note

  • This concept classifies the dispositions of entities to undergo certain processes. Dispositions are distinguished from qualities by their dependence on processes to be realised or manifested. For example, a ceramic artifact has a disposition to be fragile, which manifests itself if the piece is dropped on a hard surface.
