  • Sgaw, also known as Sgaw Karen and Sgaw Kayin, is a Karen language spoken by over one million Sgaw Karen people in Burma, and 200,000 in Thailand. Sgaw Karen is spoken in Tanintharyi Regions Ayeyarwady Delta, Yangon Division, Bago Division and Kayin State. The two main dialects of S'gaw Karen are Panapu and Palakhi. It is written using the Burmese script. A Bible translation was published in 1853.
