- Bangka is an Austronesian language spoken in Indonesia, specifically on the Island of Bangka in the Bangka-Belitung of Sumatra. There are about 340,000 speakers as of 2000. It is also known as Lom, Belom, Mapor or Maporese, and has a distinct vocabulary, grammar and phonology from other Malayan languages
